1. Dec 30, 2009 your soundcard is being used by another program. Microphone, sound recorder, etc. I have another program that uses my soundcard. Mixxx gives me that same message at start up if i have that other program on or have just turned it off. Make sure all other programs are shut down.
2. I want to know, if I remove a drive from my SQL table (effectively taking it offline) how, or even is, there a way to unmount a busy device? So far I've found that any form of umount does not work. Ignoring the possibility of destroying data - is it possible to unmount a device that is currently being read?

On first install I get this error when Mixxx is trying to find my sound card. The sound card does work and although I have no apps running and even after re-booting and installing a fresh version I get the same error message. I've tried several other options in the drop down list for sound drivers but no luck. I'm using the 64bit app and have kde installed while using the ubuntu desktop. I'd appreciate any help and thank you in advance! ~Danny

Mixxx cannot access the sound device 1, Intel ICH7: Intel ICH7 (hw:0,0). Another application is using the sound device or it is not plugged in.
Retry after closing the other application or reconnecting the sound device
